Fidelis Construction Limited is a fast-growing construction company specializing in building construction, maintenance works, and civil engineering projects across Malawi.
As part of our continued growth, we are inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the following position:
QUANTITY SURVEYOR (1)
Reporting to: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Role Summary
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects, including cost planning, contract administration, valuations, tendering, and ensuring effective cost control across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze construction drawings and Bills of Quantities and prepare resource requirements for execution at each stage
- Scrutinize material costs against contracts to ensure cost efficiency and best value
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment certificates in a timely manner
- Organize and attend official site meetings
- Prepare site progress reports for management and project meetings
- Prepare and submit final project cost estimates, including variations and addendums
- Maintain regular physical presence on site to verify variations and support claim submissions to prevent company losses
- Ensure adequate project funding availability at all sites at all times
- Ensure all sites have approved material schedules before project commencement
- Prepare project reports, analyze contracts, prepare budgets, conduct risk assessments, and produce relevant documentation
- Prepare and submit tender documents
- Review tender documents to ensure sufficient information is available for accurate tender preparation
- Maintain contract documentation and provide advice on pre-tender and post-contract matters
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines and demanding schedules.
Requirements
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution
- Candidates with a Degree must have a minimum of 5–10 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a team player
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Good time management skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
