We are inviting applications from suitably qualified and dedicated candidates to fill the following vacant position:

Position

Risk and Compliance Officer – Grade 12

Purpose of the Position

To implement effective risk management policies and procedures, and to manage and monitor all relevant risks within VisionFund Malawi.

The role will assist in controlling the implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures, performing internal checks, and reporting on detected risks to enable achievement of the department’s objectives for improvement of the wellbeing of the most vulnerable children in Malawi.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management (50%)

Monitoring and Auditing:

Conduct monthly branch visits, spot checks, and portfolio reviews to ensure adherence to policies, laws, and regulations.

Investigation and Resolution:

Identify compliance violations and investigate incidents in line with compliance procedures.

Audit and Legal Teams:

Advise and train staff on risk and regulatory requirements.

Reporting:

Produce regular updates to senior management on compliance status, risks, and operational progress.

Risk Management (50%)

Risk Strategy and Policy:

Develop and update risk strategies, manuals, and policies.

Post-Loan Disbursement Monitoring:

Review new and existing loan portfolios and identify high-risk areas.

Risk Reporting:

Prepare and defend compliance risk reports and strategies for management review.

Collaboration:

Work closely with Audit and Recovery teams to identify risk areas and implement effective risk responses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Degree in Accounting, Administration, Internal Audit, or related field, with at least 3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or related areas within the financial services industry.

Excellent communication, analytical, and computing skills.

Working knowledge of systems such as:

  • T24 Loan Tracking System
  • Microsoft applications
  • Digital platforms

Must be a committed Christian.
