Point of Progress, through the Solidarity Exchange for Environment and Development (SEED), is inviting Malawian volunteers and professionals to apply for a transformative 12-month fellowship that promotes cross-cultural collaboration and climate justice action between Malawi and Norway.
About SEED
SEED is a bi-national climate justice exchange programme that connects Malawian and Norwegian youth and professionals through immersive learning, cross-cultural collaboration, and community-driven climate action.
Participants will tackle the root causes of climate change through the lens of climate justice, gender equality, youth empowerment, food sovereignty, and sustainable development.
Responsibilities or duties
- Engage in community-based climate justice and food sovereignty interventions.
- Collaborate with youth clubs, civil society actors, and local authorities to promote resilient food systems.
- Participate in farm visits, awareness campaigns, and advocacy training.
- Co-develop policy briefs, visual content, and stories that highlight community-led solutions.
- Influence public discourse and behavior through media engagement and grassroots mobilization.
- Strengthen community knowledge and practices in sustainable food production and land stewardship.
Qualifications or requirements
- Aged 18 to 30
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Development Studies, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in climate justice, food sovereignty, or environmental advocacy
- Passionate about climate food systems and grassroots empowerment
- Must hold a valid passport and commit to the 12-month exchange
