POSITION: SALES REPRESENTATIVE
SME Clinic, on behalf of its client, a fast-growing retailer supplying fresh food products to some of Malawi’s leading hospitality institutions, is recruiting a Sales Representative to be based in Blantyre.
The ideal candidate must be energetic, presentable, target-driven, and experienced in sales, preferably within the food, retail, hospitality supply, or FMCG sector.Malawi business directory
Main Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with hotels, restaurants, lodges, catering companies, and other institutional clients.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers.
- Promote the company’s fresh food products and communicate product availability, pricing, and offers.
- Prepare quotations, follow up on orders, and ensure timely communication with clients.
- Support order processing and coordinate with operations/logistics teams on deliveries.
- Conduct regular client visits and market follow-ups.
- Monitor customer feedback and report market trends, complaints, and opportunities.
- Meet agreed sales targets and contribute to business growth.
- Maintain accurate sales records, customer databases, and activity reports.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
Communications & Media Studies
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate, Diploma, or relevant training in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in sales or business development.
- Experience in food retail, FMCG, hospitality supply, or institutional sales will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Good presentation and reporting skills.
- Must be based in Blantyre.
