The Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme (MLW) (http://www.mlw.mw) is a world-class health research institution committed to improving health through research, capacity building, and strong partnerships.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Security Supervisor to join the Programme’s Security Section. The successful candidate will support the Security Services Coordinator in the effective implementation and oversight of integrated security and safety measures aimed at protecting MLW personnel, assets, and facilities across all operational areas. The role entails contributing to the development and continuous review of security policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the evolving risk environment. It also requires the effective utilization of security systems including CCTV, access control, communication systems, alarm monitoring, and incident reporting platforms, while supervising security personnel to ensure adherence to established procedures, performance standards, and emerging risk profiles. The security supervisor will be reporting to the Security Services Coordinator.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Security Management/Security Studies, Criminology, or related field.
- Possession of recognized professional security certifications will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience at a supervisory level within a structured international organization or research institution.
- Proven experience in managing security personnel and operating security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and review security policies and procedures.
- Experience in conducting security investigations, risk assessments, and producing professional reports.
Remuneration and Benefits

This is a renewable one-year contract based in Blantyre.
