JOB DETAILS:

Main Duties/Responsibilities

• Patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment
• Provision of comprehensive medical care
• Planning and assessing the work of Clinical Staff
• Monitoring quality and appropriateness of medical care
• Providing guidance and leadership for performance guidance
• Attending to referral cases from out-patients and health centres
• Referral of patients who need specialized care
• Collaboration with the health care teams
• Performing normal surgical operations and attending to theatre emergencies
• Planning and managing health centre supervisory visits as part of the team member
• Managing clinical peer review
• Overseeing documentation and care planning
• Recording patients’ data in relevant registers
• Supervising, aggregating, analyzing and interpreting data
• Planning and assessing the work of Clinical Staff
• Being a resource person for Clinical staff
• Managing physician relations and/or representation
• Managing community relations
• Planning and preparing activities for Health centres under the hospital
• Resource mobilisation to ensure effective and efficient operations of the department
• Conducting refresher courses & CPDs for Clinical staff
• Conducting appraisals of clinical staff

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of MBBS from recognised institution
• Must be registered with Medical Council of Malawi
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• At least two years’ relevant experience
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under minimum supervision
• Team player
• Be willing to do master's in surgery
• Must be a devoted Christian

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: bachelor degree
