JOB SUMMARY

This is a supervisory position responsible for the day-to-day management, operations, supervision, and maintenance of Zomba Stadium. The position is offered on a three-year renewable contract.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Applicants must be in possession of a Diploma in Sports Science, Business Administration, or any relevant diploma qualification related to sports obtained from a recognized institution, with a minimum of two (2) years' work experience in the field of sports and hospitality.

KEY DUTIES

  • Coordinate all sporting activities at the stadium through an organized calendar of key events to ensure uninterrupted hosting of events and functions at the stadium.
  • Act as the liaison officer with stakeholders and clients on sporting activities, including but not limited to football clubs, FAM, and SULOM.
  • Oversee the daily management, operations, and maintenance of Zomba Stadium.
  • Coordinate all commercial undertakings at the stadium, including stadium and conference bookings and hirings.
  • Ensure safety, security, and compliance with local football regulations in the operations of the stadium.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the stadium and its surrounding environment.
  • Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks such as restocking supplies and replacing broken systems and fittings.
  • Supervise stadium staff and service providers.
  • Prepare and manage budget and revenue activities for the stadium.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings with the stadium management committee and stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • The candidate should be conversant with sports policies and laws in Malawi.
  • The candidate should possess strong numerical, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
