Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Stores Clerk to manage inventory and stock records at our central warehouse. The Stores Clerk will play a key role in ensuring efficient stock control, proper record-keeping, and accurate documentation of all inventory movements. This role requires a high level of organization, integrity, and familiarity with inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and materials.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory in the warehouse.
- Issue stock and materials to relevant departments based on approved requests.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory management systems regularly.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or excesses to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with company inventory procedures and policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the store area.
- Support periodic audits and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) is required; a certificate or diploma in Procurement, Logistics, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory or storekeeping roles.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Excel, Word) and familiarity with stock/inventory software.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to handle stock movement when required.
Language Requirements
Fluent in English and at least one local language.
