Background

Sunbird Tourism plc, Malawi’s leading hotel group, invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals who are passionate about advancing their careers to fill the vacant positions tenable at various Sunbird Hotels and Resorts.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in the receiving bay, storerooms and surrounding areas.
• Clean and sanitize all stores areas daily.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals in the correct quantities to prevent wastage.
• Observe high standards of personal hygiene and comply with all health and safety requirements.
• Follow fire and safety procedures to protect employees, guests, property and stock.
• Report faults or maintenance requirements in the storerooms.
• Collect stock from the delivery point and transfer it safely to the appropriate storage areas.
• Carry and position operating equipment in the required service areas.

Knowledge, skills, competences and attributes desired

• A full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
• Training in HACCP will be an added advantage.
• At least one year’s experience in a similar position.
• Honest and trustworthy.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move stock and equipment.
• Organized and able to maintain orderly storage areas.
• A team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Able to report faults, shortages and breakages promptly.
• Willing to work flexible hours when operationally required.
