Company Description

Emmanuel International Malawi (EIM) is a faith-based Organization working with rural communities of Malawi in Relief and Development since 1987. El is focused in supporting children living with HIV to improve adherence, reduce stigma, and access SRHR information through Teen Clubs, Improve Food Security, Economic Development, Community-based health care and nutrition. Emergency Relief. Sustainable improved access to safe, potable and adequate water, basic and safe sanitation, and Cross cutting development issues of Gender and Environment Management. Applications are therefore invited for the following vacant position in Teen Club project that is available for immediate filling. This is an ongoing project, and the position is based in Zomba.

Job Description

The Teen Club intern will be responsible for

  • Supporting Teen Club sessions.
  • Assisting with adolescent follow-up
  • Supporting documentation and reporting
  • Conducting facility caregiver engagement activities
  • Assisting health workers during Teen Club activities
  • Assisting in reconciling funds after activities

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCE

REQUIREMENTS

  • Passion for working with adolescents and young people
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, psychosocial support, or community development will be an added advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with communities and health facility staff
  • Basic report writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to speak Chichewa fluently and English
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email) is an added advantage
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must be willing to work within Zomba District and travel to supported health facilities.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in community development, social work, education, nursing or a related field.
