VACANCY
1. Veterinary Officer (1) — Animal Health Systems Innovator
Role Purpose:
Redefine animal health management using data, observation, and innovation to ensure high productivity and welfare across SMAAC’s piggery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee comprehensive animal health programs, vaccinations, and biosecurity protocols
- Serve as the technical lead in all of SMAAC’s veterinary aspects including ordering, managing, distribution and monitoring of all vet medicines, feed ingredients and associated supplies
- Monitor animal welfare, growth, and productivity using SPIMS (SMAAC Piggery Information Management System)
- Operate and interpret IoT devices for real-time health and environmental monitoring
- Train piggery staff to optimize performance based on actionable insights
- Advise on breeding, nutrition, and operational strategies for value addition
Qualifications & Skills:
- Veterinary certification and registration with relevant regulatory bodies
- Experience in livestock health systems preferred
- Proficiency in data-driven tools (SPIMS, IoT platforms)
- Curiosity, innovation, and strong problem-solving capability
