VACANCY

1. Veterinary Officer (1) — Animal Health Systems Innovator

Role Purpose:

Redefine animal health management using data, observation, and innovation to ensure high productivity and welfare across SMAAC’s piggery operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and oversee comprehensive animal health programs, vaccinations, and biosecurity protocols
• Serve as the technical lead in all of SMAAC’s veterinary aspects including ordering, managing, distribution and monitoring of all vet medicines, feed ingredients and associated supplies
• Monitor animal welfare, growth, and productivity using SPIMS (SMAAC Piggery Information Management System)
• Operate and interpret IoT devices for real-time health and environmental monitoring
• Train piggery staff to optimize performance based on actionable insights
• Advise on breeding, nutrition, and operational strategies for value addition

Qualifications & Skills:

• Veterinary certification and registration with relevant regulatory bodies
• Experience in livestock health systems preferred
• Proficiency in data-driven tools (SPIMS, IoT platforms)
• Curiosity, innovation, and strong problem-solving capability
