Role Overview:
This role provides direct psychosocial support to beneficiaries and offers clinical guidance to the volunteer team. The officer will help ensure that support services are ethical, effective, and trauma-informed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic psychosocial first aid and supportive listening to individuals and groups.
- Assist in conducting basic needs assessments and making appropriate referrals to specialized services.
- Develop and share resources on coping strategies, self-care, and mental wellness.
- Offer guidance to the volunteer team on ethical boundaries, self-care, and basic support principles.
- Help maintain confidential case notes (where applicable and with consent).
- Participate in clinical supervision discussions.
Who Should Apply:
- Individuals with qualifications or training in counseling, clinical psychology, psychiatric nursing, or similar.
- Experience in providing psychosocial support is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of ethics, boundaries, and referral pathways.
- Compassionate, calm, and resilient.
