Background

Solar Ku Midzi is seeking a skilled, hardworking, reliable, and honest Accounting Manager to manage the financial accounts of two sister organizations:

Kachione LLC – a sole proprietorship with 11 staff members

Affordable Solar for Villagers (AS4V) – a Malawi-based NGO with 1 staff member

Kachione receives solar products funded by international donors, pays customs duties, and manages storage, protection, and assembly of inventory before distribution by Rachel & Christina Solar Devices to fifteen women-led village solar shops across Malawi. Products are sold at subsidized prices to cover in-country costs.

AS4V administers related research, documentation, and training programs and seeks import tax exemptions from MRA to reduce costs for village customers.

More information is available at SolarKuMidzi.org and Solar4Africa.org.

Accounting Management Responsibilities (Both Organizations)

Ensure all transactions are recorded with appropriate and correct receipts.

Organize, name, and file all receipts online.

Ensure all inventory is properly tracked and accounted for in collaboration with Kachione’s Operations Manager and Bookkeeper.

Ensure monthly staff salaries and commissions, utilities, PAYE, WHT, and other recurring costs are correctly documented and paid promptly.

Prepare monthly cash projections for three, six, and twelve months, considering inflation and sales seasonality.

Assist the President of Kachione, the Executive Director of AS4V, and key Solar4Africa donor representatives by providing cash projections and monthly financial reports while fostering transparency and accuracy.
