Overview

Namuleri Limited is a Malawian enterprise with interests in clean energy and microfinance. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join our team in Lilongwe in the following role:

Accountant

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Maintain up-to-date records for accounts payable, receivable, and the general ledger
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Manage payroll, statutory returns, and tax submissions (e.g., VAT, PAYE, pension)
  • Reconcile bank statements and support cash flow monitoring
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with internal/external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and recommend improvements
  • Assist with donor, project, and operational budgeting and reporting
  • Maintain a proper filing system and support administrative finance tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • At least 3 years’ accounting experience (experience in energy or microfinance preferred)
  • Sound knowledge of GAAP, Malawi tax law, and statutory returns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and financial systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
