OVERVIEW
Simbeko Investments invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Accounts Assistant.
Location: Nchalo
Reporting to: Finance /Administration Manager
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties, among others:
- Recording daily sales, receipts, and payments across all business units.
- Processing supplier invoices, expense claims, and payment vouchers.
- Maintaining accurate cashbooks, petty cash, and general ledger records.
- Preparing customer invoices and monitoring receivables.
- Assisting with creditor reconciliations and payment schedules.
- Conducting bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Assisting with stock reconciliations for beverages, fuel, lubricants, and hardware items.
- Recording accommodation and conference facility revenue.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Supporting statutory compliance including VAT, PAYE, and other taxes.
- Maintaining proper filing and documentation for audit purposes.
- Performing any other accounting duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of ICAM Diploma in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ relevant working experience.
- Experience in trading, distribution, fuel, or hospitality businesses will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
