Tears Investments invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Accounts Assistant.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Accountant to support effective financial management and accountability of company. Accounts Assistant will play a key role in ensuring proper record keeping, payment processing, reporting, and compliance with organizational financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties, among others:

Financial Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Record daily transactions including receipts, payments, and invoices.
  • Ensure proper filling and documentation of all financial records.
  • Prepare and process payments (cash, bank transfers, cheques).
  • Verify supporting documentation before payments are made.
  • Ensure all payments are properly authorized.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Provide financial summaries for management.
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensure timely reconciliations.
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with government financial regulations.
  • Support audit processes and provide required documentation.

Payroll Support

  • Assist in processing salaries and staff allowances.
  • Ensure correct deductions (tax and benefits) are applied.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Supporting statutory compliance including VAT, PAYE, and other taxes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ICAM Diploma in Accounting or related field.
  • At least two (2) years’ progressive experience in finance office.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in using SAGE Accounting package
  • Proficiency in financial and computer applications.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
