Overview

Assistant Forester (1 post)

Vizara Plantations Limited, situated some 10 km away from Chintheche turn off ( M5 Road) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position of assistant Forester. Reporting to the Mill Manager, the candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day field operations – harvesting and other assigned duties. Candidates should have the following criteria;

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of Diploma in forestry from a recognized institution. Those with higher qualifications will have an added advantage.
• Should have worked in forestry department or private company with not less than 5 years of experience in a very busy Agricultural Plantation/ forestry having felling operations will be given preference
• Aged between 25 to 40
• Excellent in written and oral communication skills
• Should have a driving licence for motorcycle code A/ A1

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These shall include but not limited to;

• Monitoring all felling operations in the Field- Logging section.
• Labour Management.
• Monitoring of budget and cost control, to ensure there is no over expenditure.
• Advance planning and implementation of various general works assigned.
• Monitoring fuel usage of logging vehicles.
• And any other duties assigned from time to time

REMUNERATIONS

Remuneration will be in line with the experience and suitability of the candidate.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 60

Level of Education: associate degree
