Electricity Generation Company (MW) Ltd Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill the following vacant positions in the company:

Responsibilities or duties

• Assisting in coordinating mechanical maintenance activities at the hydropower plant.
• Supporting the mobilization of resources required for mechanical maintenance works.
• Assisting in the preparation and implementation of maintenance plans and schedules for the power station.
• Carrying out corrective and routine preventive maintenance of hydropower plant mechanical equipment.
• Assisting in conducting condition monitoring and inspections of hydro power plant equipment.
• Identifying and facilitating availability of critical spare parts, materials and tolls required for maintenance activities.
• Supporting implementation of planned rehabilitation, refurbishment and modernization works for the plant.
• Assisting in reviewing modifications and new mechanical designs to ensure compatibility with existing systems and operational requirements.
• Participating in the preparation and implementation of the power station’s capital and operational budgets in line with departmental objectives.
• Preparing and compiling monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual maintenance reports.

Qualifications or requirements 

• A holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained from an accredited institution.
• Physically fit and willing to work odd hours and weekends.
• Should be aged between 23 and 40.

Experience needed

• Must have 2 years post qualification experience in manufacturing, mechanical or related industry.

• Assisting in coordinating mechanical maintenance activities at the hydropower plant.
