JOB DETAILS:

Biology & Chemistry

The teacher is responsible for teaching life sciences and chemical sciences, with strong laboratory and practical components.

Biology Component:

• Core Biology Topics: Teach cell biology, genetics, ecology, human anatomy and physiology, plant biology, and biodiversity.
• Practical Work: Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and field studies to reinforce concepts.
• Health Education: Teach topics on nutrition, disease, immunity, and public health (HIV/AIDS, malaria, hygiene).
• Environmental Awareness: Foster appreciation for conservation and biodiversity.

Chemistry Component:

• Core Chemistry Topics: Teach atomic structure, chemical bonding, periodic table, acids and bases, rates of reaction, and organic chemistry.
• Practical Chemistry: Conduct laboratory experiments on titrations, qualitative analysis, and synthesis, developing practical skills.
• Scientific Method: Teach students to make observations, record data, and draw conclusions.
• Applications: Demonstrate chemistry's role in daily life, agriculture, and industry.

General Teaching Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons, including hands-on laboratory work.
• Enforce strict safety protocols in the laboratory.
• Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress.
