We are hiring the following position:

1. Title: COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING OFFICER

Reports to: Head of Programs

Location: Kasese – Dowa

Job Summary

The Communications and Marketing Officer will lead Orant Charities Africa’s communication strategies to effectively promote the organization’s mission, programs, and achievements. This role involves managing both external and internal communications, enhancing organizational visibility, and supporting advocacy and fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities

The job holder is expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the organization’s communications strategy and campaigns.
  • Create, edit, and disseminate content for press releases, social media, the website, and promotional materials.
  • Manage the organization’s online presence, including social media channels and website updates.
  • Develop communication materials to support fundraising, donor reporting, and program visibility.
  • Collaborate with program teams to highlight success stories, case studies, and project updates.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or related roles.
  • Experience in non-profit or development sector communications is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong social media and digital content management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic and familiar with youth-focused trends (e.g., TikTok).
  • Well-spoken with familiarity in influencer marketing and hashtag strategy.
  • Familiarity with website management is an added advantage.
  • Good photography and videography skills.
