Background

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN office that supports peace and development worldwide. UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating for recognition of volunteers worldwide, integrating volunteerism in development planning and encouraging a culture of volunteerism. UNV supports the UN system and its partners in the areas of peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance, disaster risk reduction, peacekeeping, and development.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the UNV Programme Assistant, the UNV Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of UNV outreach campaigns.
  • Develop and disseminate campaign materials through various channels (social media, events, partnerships).
  • Engage with potential volunteers and partners to promote UNV opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on campaign reach and impact.
  • Provide administrative support for campaign activities.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Communications, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for volunteerism and international development.

Experience

Previous experience in campaign dissemination or volunteer engagement is an asset.

Additional Notes

This is a volunteer position. UNV provides a modest living allowance and health insurance.
