The company hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Certifications Manager – EPM Thyolo Tea & Macs, tenable at its VIL Macadamia Factory in Thyolo.

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager EPM Thyolo, or his/her designate.

Key Responsibilities

Policy design, training, and practical implementation of compliance standards for all Food Safety, Quality, Environment, Health, Ethical, and Social Standards to which the Company subscribes.

Conduct internal inspections of all EPM Thyolo & VIL production facilities and production sites to ensure ongoing adherence to all applicable Certification Standards.

Ensure adequate and timeous internal audits and assessments are carried out.

Support Estate & Factory Production Management Teams to implement all Certification Standards.

Meet deadlines set to ensure all customer or other complaints, non-conformances, or observations are investigated and addressed accordingly.

Review and amend standards and policies on a continuous basis in order to adhere to legislation and certification compliance.

Coordinate with external parties (certification bodies, government, communities, etc.) on matters relating to Food Safety, Quality, Environment, Health, Social, and Ethical compliance.

Lead the Food Safety Management team in conducting annual management reviews of Food Safety, as well as other Certification leadership roles.

Qualifications and Attributes

Tertiary qualification in Food Technology or any related field. Those with practical knowledge of FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, SMETA, Rainforest Alliance, Global GAP, and Fairtrade standards will have an added advantage.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Ability to work hard and take own initiative with minimal supervision.

Should be an all-rounder and be willing to learn.

Good analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
