About Mzuzu International Academy

Job Overview
The Chef will be responsible for food preparation, kitchen operations, hygiene, and ensuring meals meet required nutritional standards for students and staff.Career counseling service
The Role
- Prepare and serve meals in line with nutritional and quality standards
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and safety
- Manage food inventory, storage, and distribution
- Support menu planning and efficient use of ingredients
- Control portion sizes and minimize food waste
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and equipment
- Support kitchen staff during operations and shifts
- Oversee back-of-house operations including maintenance and supplies
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Culinary Arts, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen or cafeteria environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently

- Ability to work under pressure and multitask
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- High attention to hygiene and safety standards
- Flexible, calm, and proactive approach to work
