PARLIAMENT OF MALAWI

PARLIAMENTARY SERVICE COMMISSION VACANCIES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the existing following vacant posts in the Parliamentary Service.

Purpose of the Job

To manage financial resources and provide functional guidance on all accounting activities within the National Assembly.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance or another closely related discipline with two (2) years' work experience at supervisory level in public finance management. Must be registered and in good standing with the Malawi Accountants Board and membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi. Applicants with demonstrated expertise in public sector accounting and a professional accounting qualification, such as, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or a Master's Degree in relevant field will have an added advantage.

  • Leads the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of accounting systems and procedures;
  • Oversees preparation of periodic and annual financial statements and management accounts;
  • Coordinates preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts;
  • Oversees cash management, payment processes, and financial reconciliations;
  • Ensures compliance with Malawi's Public Finance Management laws, regulations, and government financial procedures;
  • Provides oversight of payroll accounting and related financial obligations; and,
  • Oversees financial records relating to procurement, stores, and asset management.
