ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Mighty Wanderers Football Club (2021) Limited is undergoing a commercialization and growth transformation aimed at becoming a financially sustainable and competitive football institution locally and regionally.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Club, driving both sporting and commercial success while ensuring effective implementation of Board decisions and long-term sustainability.

THE ROLE

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Club’s growth and development
  • Oversee daily operations and implementation of Board resolutions
  • Drive commercial, financial, and sporting performance
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships including sponsors, fans, and football authorities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement the Club’s strategic and business plans
  • Oversee budgeting, financial management, and revenue generation
  • Lead commercial partnerships, sponsorships, and brand development
  • Supervise Club Secretariat and operational departments
  • Oversee football operations including player contracts and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with FAM, CAF, FIFA, and statutory regulations
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and public relations
  • Lead organizational development and staff performance management
  • Oversee infrastructure and long-term Club development projects
  • Serve as Secretary to the Board and ensure governance compliance
  • Manage risk, crisis response, and business continuity

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management, Commercial Studies, or related field
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership or management role
  • Experience in sports or football administration is an added advantage

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong business, financial, and commercial acumen
  • Excellent leadership and strategic management skills
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • High integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex operations
