3️⃣ Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (CRCO)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Role Summary:

The CRCO will oversee all risk and compliance activities across AgriKwik’s platforms, operations, financial services, and partnerships. The role ensures the company operates safely, legally, and sustainably while protecting users, investors, employees, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate platform, operational, and financial risks.
  • Implement fraud prevention, anti-fraud systems, and internal controls.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance across Malawi and expanding markets.
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts for agents, franchises, suppliers, and partners.
  • Lead investigations of fraud, disputes, or compliance breaches.
  • Provide risk and compliance reports to the CEO, Board, and investors.
  • Build and lead a high-performing risk and compliance team.
  • Train staff, rural agents, kiosks, and franchise partners on risk and compliance awareness.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or professional certification like CFA, CPA, ACCA, CAMS, CRMA preferred).
  • 7+ years in risk management, compliance, or legal roles, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or digital platforms.
  • Experience developing risk frameworks, compliance programs, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
