Pothawira Health Center
Pothawira Health Center is located in the Salima District, approximately two miles from Msangu Market along the Senga Bay Road. The facility comprises a general outpatient clinic, a dedicated birthing unit, and a newly established state-of-the-art surgical center. Together, these services provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across a full spectrum of medical and surgical needs.
Our surgical center is designed to deliver exceptional peri-operative care in an environment that is safe, efficient, and compassionate. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive obstetric care including prenatal care, labor and delivery management, and postpartum care.
- Deliver expert gynecological services including annual exams, contraceptive counseling, and preventive care
- Diagnose and manage complex gynecologic conditions: uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, and menopausal disorders etc
- Perform diagnostic procedures including ultrasounds, colposcopies, Pap tests, and on-site laboratory testing
- Evaluate and manage infertility cases with appropriate specialist referrals
- Maintain detailed, accurate medical records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements for qualification:
- Bachelor of Science in obstetrics and gynecology from a recognized institution
- At least 2+ years of work experience in a good setting within or outside Malawi
- In good standing with Medical Council of Malawi.
