The Opportunity:

This is a pivotal new role designed to secure Ndi Moyo’s future and amplify its impact. You will be at the heart of implementing our strategic drivers of Sustainability, Visibility & Advocacy, and Partnerships. You will develop and execute strategies that increase donor funding, elevate our brand nationally, and forge powerful alliances with corporations, institutions, and the public. Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Donor Engagement:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and resource mobilization strategy.
  • Diversify funding streams by researching, writing, and managing grant proposals for local and international donors.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and institutional funders.
  • Manage and grow the annual fundraising calendar.

Awareness, Social Media & Content Creation:

  • Lead the repositioning of Ndi Moyo’s brand as Malawi’s Centre of Excellence in Palliative Care.
  • Develop and manage a dynamic content calendar across all platforms (website, Facebook, etc.).
  • Create compelling multimedia content (stories, videos, annual reports, documentaries) that showcases our impact, patient stories (with consent), and training excellence.
  • Oversee the management of the Ndi Moyo website.

Events Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute high-profile events to raise funds and awareness.
  • Lead the organization of the annual Ndi Moyo Golf Tournament to maximize financial returns and corporate engagement.
  • Spearhead the planning for Ndi Moyo’s 20th anniversary celebrations and other milestone events.

Corporate Engagement & Public Relations:

  • Identify, approach, and secure partnerships with private sector companies for CSR initiatives, sponsorships, and cause-related marketing.
  • Develop a media relations strategy to secure positive coverage in local and national press.
  • Act as a key spokesperson and build relationships with media houses, influencers, and community leaders.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Support the Executive Director in formalizing partnerships (MoUs) with universities, research institutions, NGOs, and international hospice partners.
  • Develop engagement strategies to ensure partnerships are active and mutually beneficial.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a combined role covering fundraising, communications/marketing, and partnership building, preferably within the NGO, health, or development sector.

Skills:

  • Exceptional Writer & Communicator: Ability to craft persuasive grant proposals, donor reports, and public-facing content in English.
  • Digital Savvy: Proven expertise in managing social media for an organization and using digital tools for brand growth. Basic graphic design/video editing skills are a plus.
  • Strategic & Organized: Ability to create and execute annual plans, manage budgets, and coordinate complex events.
  • Relationship Builder: Natural networker with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, from donors to corporate executives to community members.
  • Proactive & Resilient: A self-starter who can work independently, overcome challenges, and drive initiatives forward in a resource-limited setting.
