INTERNS: Community Engagement Intern– (3 Vacancies)
Duration: Six (6) Months
Duty Station: Nsanje 2 Interns and Lilongwe 1 Intern
The Intern will support the Zurich Climate Resilience Programme activities in working with 5 communities/wards in Lilongwe Urban on Climate Resilience while the two for Nsanje will support programme activities in working with 15 communities of Nsanje District on Climate Resilience.
Specific Intern Outputs
- Support community engagement and resilience activities.
- Support implementation of climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction interventions.
- Support project monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
- Work closely with the District Programme Manager in programme activity implementation
- Support coordination with community structures, government, and project partners.
- Participate in dissemination of programme learning with stakeholders at district level
- Document and share summary notes of meetings, activity reports, or workshops attended
- Collaborate with the MEAL, Operations and Finance teams
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Focal Person/Mentor
- Adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in the Concern Code of Conduct & its Associated Policies
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, agriculture, community development, disaster risk reduction or Development Studies.
- No Experience required
- Good inter-personal communication, networking, presentation and engagement skills
- Good understanding of climate change, adaptation, resilience, Gender mainstreaming and Disaster risk management
- Strong interest in community engagement and environmental sustainability
- Good computer proficiency with MS Office specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Possession of a valid motorcycle riding licence and experience riding a motorcycle will be an added advantage.
