Responsibilities

The general duties and responsibility of the will include the following;

  • Advising mothers on Maternal and Child health issues and teaching parents on family planning methods.
  • Conducting mobile clinic services to the community and schools on health issues
  • Assessing community health needs related to sanitation, immunization, water income generating activities for empowerment, nutrition and home care.
  • Providing Anti-natal, Under-five, post-natal, child spacing and nutrition clinics.
  • Providing nursing care related to need of the community.
  • Ensure the proper and complete recording of data in relevant registers and instruments following the HMIS guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and adequate analysis of information and their dissemination to all relevant stakeholders including submission of quarterly report to the designated officer.
  • Routinely monitor relevant indicators using HMIS tools and guidelines and take necessary actions for improvement of service quality and overall health status of the people.
  • Provide training and feedback to subordinate personnel for proper data collection, analysis and use.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Community Nursing
  • Three years experience
  • Registration with the Nurses Council of Malawi.
