Background

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) is a leading international research organization working with governments, civil society and the private sector to find solutions to water challenges. IWMI is part of the CGIAR Consortium.

IWMI is seeking to recruit a Consultant Water Resilience Officer to support the implementation of its projects in Malawi. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Country Director, IWMI Malawi and will be based in Lilongwe.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of water resilience projects in Malawi.
• Conduct research and analysis on water resources management and climate change adaptation.
• Develop project proposals and reports.
• Organize and facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings.
• Contribute to the dissemination of research findings.
• Provide technical assistance to project partners.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master's degree in Water Resources Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in water resources management, climate change adaptation, or sustainable development.
• Proven experience in project management and implementation.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in Malawi or the Southern Africa region is an advantage.

Other Information

This is a consultancy position for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
