Job Overview
The Drop-in Centre Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering comprehensive clinical services to key populations at a Drop-in Centre, in line with national guidelines and organisational standards.
The Role
Reporting to the District Coordinator, the Drop-in Centre Manager will provide HIV-related clinical services, oversee daily operations of the centre, and ensure high-quality, confidential, and client-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective day-to-day operations of the Drop-in Centre
- Provide HIV services including HTS, Oral and Injectable PrEP, STI screening and treatment, ART, cervical cancer screening, and risk-reduction counselling
- Assess, diagnose, and treat common health conditions in line with Ministry of Health and Medical/Nursing Council policies
- Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and commodity consumption data
- Ensure timely referrals and follow-up for clients accessing ART and other services
- Build strong working relationships with nearby health facilities, Peer Educators, and Peer Navigators
- Support outreach clinics at hotspot level where necessary
- Ensure quality data collection, reporting, and use of online data systems
- Develop and implement work plans and submit reports on time
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or Clinical Medicine from a recognised institution
- Registered with the Nursing or Medical Council of Malawi
- Minimum of three (3) years’ clinical experience
- At least two (2) years’ experience working with key populations
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Chichewa
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with online data collection tools (ODK, Kobo, SurveyCTO)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Training in Long-Acting Injectable Cabotegravir (CAB-LA) is an added advantage
