About the Employer / Role

Malawi College of Education (MCE) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Dean of Faculty. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, oversee academic programmes, promote research and innovation, and ensure compliance with NCHE standards while contributing to the College's vision and mission.

Key Requirements

  • PhD in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education is preferred.
  • Candidates with a Master's Degree in Education (Early Childhood/Primary) and relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' university or college teaching experience.
  • At least three (3) years' academic leadership experience at Head of Department, Dean or equivalent level.
  • Demonstrated record of research publications and academic supervision.
  • Experience in curriculum development, quality assurance and academic administration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and management skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism and ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Faculty.

  • Lead curriculum review and programme development.
  • Coordinate teaching, research and community engagement activities.
  • Mentor and supervise academic staff.
  • Promote research, innovation and scholarly publications.

  • Foster partnerships with stakeholders and professional bodies.
