GAEM (Girls Against Early Marriage) is a youth-driven organization committed to protecting girls’ rights, promoting education, and ending early and forced marriages in our communities.
We are currently recruiting passionate, committed, and responsible volunteers to join our movement and help expand our impact across Malawi.
Volunteer Duration
The volunteer engagement period is 6 months.
Performance-Based Opportunity:
Volunteers who perform exceptionally well, demonstrate commitment, discipline, and strong work ethic during the 6-month period may be considered for joining the GAEM team as official members/staff, subject to performance evaluation.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
We are seeking volunteers who meet the following criteria:
- Aged 18 to 35 years
- Hold at least one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Community Development
- Certificate in Teaching
- Diploma in Nursing
- Individuals with technical skills will have an added advantage
- Passionate about girls’ rights, education, and community development
- Willing to engage in outreach, advocacy, education, and awareness campaigns
- Team players with strong integrity, commitment, and willingness to learn
- Preferably based in rural communities
Responsibilities or duties
- Community outreach and sensitization
- School-based awareness programs
- Advocacy and campaign activities
- Communications and content creation
- Administrative and coordination support.
