Background

Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation is a liability public company involved in Agriculture production, marketing, agro processing and distribution of farm inputs. The Company is involved in processing and marketing of rice, pigeon peas, beans, maize, cotton, sesame and fertilizers business.

The Company intends to fill the following vacant position:

Director of Operations (Grade AL 2)

The Director will report to Chief Executive Officer on daily running of the operations of ADMARC. The position requires mature individual without any criminal record. The individual is expected to work with minimum supervision. If you think you are the one, the opportunity has availed for you.

Responsibilities

Specifically, the individual is expected to:

• Provide strategic operations to all its divisions
• Provide required leadership to all divisions
• Work on potential untapped markets for Malawi commodities
• Venture into new areas of ADMARC operations such as fish farming and refrigeration of our products
• Balance provision of services to social markets without adverse effect to organization core business
• Expand cotton business including final production time of cotton
• Make use of warehouses by revamping Malawi Warehouse and Trading Company MAWTCO Concept.

Qualifications and Experience

Master’s Degree in Economics, or Agriculture or Business Administration. The individuals with two Master’s degree or more in the discipline mentioned here will have added advantage. It is also expected that the individual will have a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience at Senior position in an organization of equivalent stature to ADMARC.

• Team player and able to listen to his/her subordinates
• Competitive spirit in doing business
• Excellent communication skills
