The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DODMA) is seeking to recruit a Driver.

Duties

The Driver will be responsible for:

  • Driving and keeping the vehicle safe and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Perform basic maintenance checks, report issues and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
  • Plan and follow designated routes, considering factors like traffic, road conditions and time constraints
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely pickups, deliveries or arrivals
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers
  • Communicate effectively with passengers or other stakeholders
  • Secure the vehicle and provide protection against theft and damage
  • Maintaining accurate records such as log books
  • Conducting pre and post trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and identify potential issues

Personal Attributes

Candidates should possess the following personal attributes:

  • Hard working
  • Reliable self – starter and mature in judgement
  • Honest with sober and high moral/social integrity
  • Result oriented
  • Smart and presentable
  • Able to communicate fluently in English
  • Without criminal record
  • Ready to work odd hours

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • Must have JCE or MSCE with a pass in English
  • Must have a valid driving licence Code C or above
