Responsibilities

  • Driving office vehicles to provide transportation to authorized personnel and for delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.
  • Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicles, ensuring that vehicles are in usable condition.
  • Performing minor repairs and arranges for other repairs, regular servicing and ensures vehicle cleanliness at all times.
  • Managing vehicle log books, recording daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes and greasing.
  • Ensuring steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident.
  • Assisting in photocopying and circulation of internal mail.
  • Submitting monthly transport returns.
  • Ensuring that motor vehicles are always clean.

Qualifications

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • In possession of a valid Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics
  • At least two years’ experience with safe driving record in a Non Governmental Organisation or any other organisation
  • Certified in Defensive Driving

Skills

  • Knowledge of the driving rules and regulations in Malawi
  • Skills in minor motor vehicle repair
  • Sober, with ability to work as part of a team and take instructions
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions in English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Time management skills and well organized
