POSITION SUMMARY
Magic Clean Ltd is seeking a competent and dependable Driver with practical mechanical skills to support its operational fleet.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating company vehicles—including dump trucks—conducting routine inspections, and performing basic maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles, including dump trucks.
- Transport waste, materials, and equipment to designated sites as required.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Perform basic mechanical repairs and routine maintenance to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all road traffic regulations and internal company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and service schedules.
- Assist with loading and off-loading of materials when required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- Valid Malawian C1 driver’s license with appropriate vehicle categories for dump truck operation.
- Minimum of five (5) years verifiable driving experience, preferably in waste management, construction, or logistics.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.
- Strong understanding of road safety principles and defensive driving practices.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently, including handling emergency mechanical issues.
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual tasks associated with vehicle operations.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
- Prior experience in the waste management or transportation sector.
- Additional training or certification in mechanics or defensive driving.
