About Us:

Ujamaa Pamodzi Africa is an organisation which implements evidence based Sexual and Gender-Based Violence prevention and aftercare programmes in Malawi.

Job Description:

The Driver will be responsible for operating and maintaining Ujamaa Pamodzi Africa’s vehicles to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of staff, materials and equipment. The role involves adhering to traffic regulations, ensuring vehicle cleanliness, scheduling regular maintenance, and keeping accurate trip and vehicle records. The Driver will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s operations by providing reliable and safe transport services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Ujamaa Pamodzi Africa vehicles keeping them in good working condition while adhering to traffic laws and organizational policies.
  • Report and arrange for routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles.
  • Prepare accurate trip reconciliations, maintain vehicle logbooks, and submit timely vehicle usage reports.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and well-presented at all times.
  • Oversee timely vehicle licensing, insurance renewals, and adherence to scheduled maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
  • Valid Class D Driving License.
  • Certification in Defensive Driving.
  • Basic mechanic and car maintenance/service required.
  • Proven experience driving passenger vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Experience working with an NGO will be an added advantage.
