About World Agroforestry (ICRAF)
World Agroforestry (ICRAF) is implementing the Restore Africa Malawi Project, a 5-year initiative focused on land restoration, improved livelihoods, and carbon generation. The project aims to restore over 220,000 hectares of degraded land and support more than 220,000 small-scale farming households across Malawi through agroforestry and sustainable land-use practices.
Job Overview
Enumerators will support field data collection for the Restore Africa Malawi Project across the Central, Southern, and Northern Regions of Malawi.
The assignment will run for 15–20 days between March and April 2026.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Attend training workshops prior to field deployment
- Conduct household surveys using smartphones or tablets
- Collect GPS coordinates and accurate field data
- Use digital tools to document and upload daily data
- Participate in daily team review meetings
- Ensure full coverage of assigned enumeration areas
- Maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Report challenges and provide feedback to supervisors
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences or Agriculture
- Proven experience conducting household surveys (required)
- Experience using smartphones/tablets for digital data collection
- Familiarity with online survey tools and GPS data collection
- Knowledge of local language and cultural context
- Must own a smartphone with good battery life and storage
- Understanding of research ethics and confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel long distances in assigned areas
- Availability for the full survey period
- High integrity, punctuality, and teamwork
