About Us

Nachambo Estate is a newly established, rapidly growing 200-hectare commercial farm in Zomba. Our operations focus on high-value Macadamia orchard development, alongside intensive Chili production launching a Commercial Banana plantation. As part of our immediate expansion, we are launching a modern Layer Farm poultry unit.

We are looking for an energetic, ambitious, and hands-on recent Graduate Farm Manager who wants to grow alongside our company and lead our field operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Orchard Management: Oversee the day-to-day husbandry, irrigation, pest control, and nutritional requirements of Macadamia trees and Banana plantations.
  • Horticulture Operations: Manage the land preparation, planting, spraying, and harvesting schedules for high-quality Chili production.
  • Poultry Launch & Management: Set up, stock, and manage the newly established Layer Farm, ensuring strict biosecurity, feeding regimes, and high egg production rates.
  • Labor Supervision: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of permanent and casual farm laborers to hit seasonal production targets.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous data on inputs, chemical applications, poultry mortality rates, crop yields, and daily farm expenses.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Education: Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Science or Agricultural Enterprise Management from a recognized Malawian institution (e.g., LUANAR, NRC, MZUNI).
  • Experience: Open to recent graduates with strong, practical internship or college attachment experience.
  • Mindset: A “can-do” entrepreneurial attitude. Must be willing to live on-site or near the farm and work flexible, farm-lifestyle hours.
  • Leadership: Strong communication skills in both Chichewa and English, with the ability to manage a rural workforce effectively.
  • Tech Literacy: Basic skills in MS Excel or mobile apps for farm logging and data recording.

What We Offer

  • Financial Growth: A competitive basic starting salary of MWK 350,000.
  • Performance Bonuses: Lucrative incentives tied directly to crop yields, chili quality, and layer production targets.
  • Career Path: A unique opportunity to transition quickly into an Executive Farm Manager role as the estate matures.
  • Accommodation: Free on-site housing or a dedicated accommodation allowance.
