About the Project:
Nthali is a local organization based in the Lake Shore District of Salima, Malawi. The organization envisions a society where marginalized communities in Malawi are resilient to climate change due to empowered women and youth farmers in regenerative agriculture. Through the Soil Rangers Project, it is dedicated to supporting a network of youth and women farmers in transitioning from conventional farming to regenerative and climate-smart agriculture. We believe in building a regenerative food system that ensures resilient communities through sustainable practices that restore soil health, increase productivity, and strengthen climate resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mobilize and engage youth and women farmers in project activities.
- Deliver hands-on training and demonstrations on regenerative agriculture practices.
- Facilitate workshops and community dialogues on climate-smart farming techniques.
- Monitor and document farmers’ progress in adopting sustainable practices.
- Act as a liaison between farmers, project management, and local stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of Diploma in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Community Development, or related field.
- Minimum of a year experience working with farming communities.
- Strong knowledge of regenerative agriculture and climate-smart farming principles.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chichewa
- Commitment to gender equity and youth empowerment.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
- Practical experience with soil health improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with climate adaptation strategies in agriculture.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse communities.
- Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Additional Notes:
The role requires frequent field visits and direct engagement with farming communities. Candidates with prior exposure in regenerative agriculture projects or climate resilience programs will be highly valued.
