Futurepump is a British-Indian company with staff in Bungay, UK, Rajkot, India and a growing presence across Africa. From our custom-built factory and office complex in India, we manufacture award-winning solar powered irrigation pumps for smallholder farmers to use across the world, with a network of over 30 country-level distributor partners.
Role Context
We’re looking for a dynamic and driven individual to lead on a 24 month fixed term Malawi based distribution project from March 2026.
This role involves supporting a distribution pilot on the ground by connecting with partners and farmers across the country to bring the Futurepump mission to life. This will involve conducting market research, collecting technical data, developing marketing strategies and running gender-intentional focus groups.
This is your chance to work closely with a passionate, international team, influencing decisions at the highest level while making a tangible impact on communities and the planet.
As Field Manager, Malawi, you will be leading an exciting project to accelerate the distribution of Futurepump products in Malawi. You will work remotely as part of a small team and report directly to the Managing Director (UK).
Responsibilities or Duties
- Building on partnerships with distribution partners
- Market research
- Content creation
- Developing our gender intentional strategy within marketing
- Running focus groups
- Field data collection – technical and marketing
- Support the execution of the distribution pilot
Qualifications or Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, as daily communication with global sales and marketing teams will be required as well as regular reporting to Directors
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently, but also be able to work well within a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Project management experience
- Experience in producing marketing budgets and reporting to management
- Driving license
Ideal but not essential
- Previous experience of working in a communications or marketing role, working within the agricultural sector is a bonus
- Proficiency in Microsoft office, Google Drive and Google Workspace
- Access to a vehicle for field work
