About the role

Malawi Community Hubs (MCH) is a small privately funded UK‑registered charitable organization dedicated to strengthening community resilience and advancing social development in Malawi. We partner with local civil society organizations (CSOs) and community‑based organizations (CBOs) to deliver integrated programmes in health, education, and community empowerment. The field Field Officer will provide support to the Program Director in implementation of Projects in Nkhotakota. The role involves working closely with communities, MCH partners to ensure effective delivery of services that strengthen resilience and advance social development.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with Programme Director on all MCH activities, providing relevant guidance, input and feedback as required to ensure the success of each activity
  • Support MCH implementing partners in implementation of education, health and community empowerment activities, ensuring timely and quality completion, in alignment with project plans and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community structures in Nkhotakota including Traditional leaders, Area Development Committees and District council officials.
  • Support planning and coordination of review meetings and MCH activities in the district, including scheduling of appointments with partners and communities.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, meetings, workshops, and community events.
  • Record and document meetings, activities, and program outputs.
  • Proactively highlight and raise any issues/challenges/concerns in a timely manner.
  • Collect, compile, and submit field data, reports, and success stories.
  • Mobilize communities and encourage active participation in hub activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with local partners, government officials, and community leaders.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and provide technical support.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social work or community development or related field.
  • A diploma with 5 plus years’ of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in implementing education, community empowerment and health projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to collect, analyze, and report data accurately.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and training with community structures and leaders.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas within Nkhotakota district.
