Our mission

We’re making Africa the first cashless continent.

In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That’s for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

Education

We’re solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don’t always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast.

Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent and that’s where you come in…

How you’ll help us achieve it

Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire, with millions of users, growing rapidly year on year. And, we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.

We are looking for a field officer to manage product rollouts as we launch our business in Malawi. You will also represent Wave, oversee our distribution and marketing, interact with and recruit users, and conduct interviews with individuals about their needs and concerns related to money transfer and financial services.

Business legal services

In this role, you’ll;

  • Identify and build a local agent network and guarantee the agent network is fully trained on applications, the contents of the contract before signing, rebalancing options, fraud management, etc.
  • Recruit target users and onboard them on the use of Wave products.
  • Collaborate with Field Officers in different locations to progress the adoption of Wave products.
  • Ensure agent quality and compliance with legal and policy requirements.
  • Ensure all agents are well-branded and well-equipped. Monitor the cash and float availability at agent locations.
  • Manage risk through routine visits to report emerging issues and assess agents’ performance in your territory.
  • Identify underperforming agents, close them, recover Wave items and equipment, and ensure that branding material is removed.
  • Be the primary contact for all agency networks acquiring Wave products in your territory.
  • Champion excellent customer service among distributors and agents within your territory.
  • Support distribution activities;
  • Coach, train and mentor your team to achieve the desired market impact and targets.
  • Scout zones where distribution should happen and give guidance on the zone where possible distributors should work.
  • Encourage and motivate distributors to perform to their fullest potential.

  • Monitor progress related to distribution activities in the field.
