The Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) is an ecumenical association of Church-owned facilities in Malawi and the Secretariat is the central coordination unit of the Association. CHAM is the second largest provider of health services in Malawi with 194 Health Facilities and 11 Training Colleges which are located in all parts of the country. Most of the Health Facilities are situated in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
The objectives of CHAM are to facilitate, provide technical support, and develop health services among all member facilities in order to achieve equity in access to health care, patient care and in all matters, to act for the benefit of the people of Malawi.
CHAM Secretariat invites applications for the position of Finance Intern as follows:
Position Details
Position: Finance Intern
Reports to: Finance Officer
Department: Finance
Purpose of the Position
To provide support to the finance team.
Responsibilities or duties
- Entering and validating data.
- Preparing Drug Revolving Fund invoices and bank deposits.
- Assisting in processing and reconciling MRA payments.
- Assisting in preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Assisting in external audit activities.
- Filing and maintaining finance records both soft and hard copies.
- Assisting in stock taking activities.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Auditing from any accredited University.
Requisite Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Excellent analytical and attention to detail skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and creative.
- Team player with high level of integrity.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience needed
None specified beyond educational requirements.
