JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: FINANCE MANAGER (FM)
Grade: LB2
Reports to: Director
Qualifications: Minimum BSc in Accounting from a recognized academic institution
Duration: 2 years (24 months)
Job Purpose:
To ensure best practice in Financial Management of ECD Department in order to maximize efficiency, accountability and growth.
Job Description:
Responsible for implementing all aspects of Finance.
Supervisory responsibilities:
The Finance Manager will directly supervise the accounts staff.
Key skills

- Strong concern for social improvement
- Strong sense of judgment
- Reliability & integrity
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities are crucial.
- Commercial awareness, initiative and the ability to work as part of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. FINANCE & BUDGETING
- Development of budgeting methodology and aiding other managers in preparing their budgets and reports and consolidating such.
- Liaise with programme Manager, and other senior staff on preparation of programme budgets.
- Make recommendations on the updating of the financial procedures and policies and disseminate any changes to all relevant staff
- Operation and maintenance of ECD bank accounts in liaison with the Director.
- Maintenance of accounting books, systems and packages
- Managing reconciliations and audit requirements
- Ensuring compliance of ECD accounting policies & procedures as well as statutory
- Financial requirements
- Forecasting the cash flow requirements
- Checking of bank reconciliation statements to
- keep track of balances
- Review of financial reports as prepared by the Accounts Assistants.
- Coordination of audit activities as well as accounts payables and receivables.
- Supervising the management of the programme and project accounts.
- Tracking the progress of projects from a financial standpoint and tracking expenditure against the budget.
- Checking financial and administrative procedures such as: payroll, bookkeeping, insurance, budget and cost control, personnel policies, accounting functions etc
