BACKGROUND
The Malawi Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation (MAIIC) Plc is a local development finance institution (DFI) incorporated in November 2018 under the Company’s Act of 2013.
The company was established to bridge the long-term financing gap in Malawi and spearhead private sector development. MAIIC is a commercially oriented DFI set up to play a leading role in socio-economic development in the country.

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial operations, providing key insights to support business growth, and ensuring the financial health of the organization.
The position reports to the Chief Finance Officer.
Description
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision-making and business unit performance.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
- Present financial results and analysis to the CFO and senior leadership.
- Supervise the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and assist in treasury functions, including banking relationships and cash forecasts.
- Maintain and improve the company’s internal control framework to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Mentor, guide, and develop a team of junior finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional qualification in ACCA or CIMA is highly preferred.
- Minimum of seven years in finance or accounting, with at least two years in a supervisory or management position.
- Exceptional knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with a Core Banking system.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to the organisation
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
