AHL Tobacco Sales Limited, a subsidiary of AHL Group Plc, is looking for a suitably qualified, mature and experienced candidate to take up a position of Floors Manager at Mzuzu Floors in Mzuzu.
Position Function
The overall function of the Floors Manager is to manage the operations of Mzuzu Floors.
Responsibilities or duties
- General daily administration of the Auction Floors
- Planning daily tobacco deliveries and sales and ensure smooth marketing of tobacco on the floors
- Taking a leading role developing and implementing strategies for the selling floors
- Managing performance of all employees and ensuring that they are productive at all times
- Developing budgets for the floors and ensuring prudence in finance management
- Organizing training and development programs for staff in the floors to ensure that performance gaps are sealed
- Ensuring that all employees in various departments exercise good customer care practices when interfacing with tobacco growers and all other stakeholders in the tobacco industry
- Taking part in disciplining employees and ensuring that all employees comply with standard operating procedures of the company and conditions of service
- Networking with the tobacco industry stakeholders and ensure that all information related to tobacco is shared among all staff members
- Managing human, finance and material resources of the floors and submitting relevant reports to Management
- Ensuring efficiency in sales planning, sales composition and ticketing
- Servicing tobacco buyers, transporters, growers and other stakeholders in an effective and efficient manner
- Enhancing health relationship and communication with stakeholders in the tobacco industry
- Any other duties assigned from time to time
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
A first Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Economics or Business Management/Administration. Those with a Master’s Degree in any of the following fields: Agriculture Sciences/Business Administration/Strategic Management/ Management Sciences will have an added advantage.
Experience needed
The candidate must have at least five (5) years hands-on experience working in a tobacco sales environment.
