JOB DETAILS:

ABOUT MEIRU

The Malawi Epidemiology and Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU), in partnership with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS), the Ministry of Health, and international partners, is inviting applications from suitably qualified graduates for its Graduate Internship Programme.

The programme provides practical workplace experience, professional development, and an opportunity to contribute to health research and national development.

THE ROLE

Successful interns will support research and operational activities while gaining hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary health research environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support research, clinical, laboratory, data management, and operational activities.
• Assist with data collection, processing, verification, documentation, and record management while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in training sessions, meetings, field activities, and other assigned duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised public university in Malawi.
• Possess good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
• Be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of local languages spoken in the study areas will be an added advantage.
